About Stephen Barker
I have 30 years experience as a professional photographer, graduating from Wellington Polytechnic School of Design in 1984 (now Massey University). I have worked for newspapers in Whangarei (The Northern Advocate) and Hamilton (The Waikato Times) where I was Deputy Chief Photographer for 10 years. From 1992 to 1993 I freelanced in London for The Observer newspaper and Rex Features.
I also cover reunions, school sports events and school Balls.
Though I mainly work on location, I have a home based studio suitable for small groups and product photography, using BOWENS and HENSEL monolight flash systems. I have the ability to meet tight deadlines when needed and use high end digital gear:
- CANON EOS 1Dx (18.1 Mega Pixel)
- "L" series lenses from 16mm wide to 400mm telephoto
